10:00AM COMMUNITY CHURCH
St Philips Community Church is a new gathering in the local
community, providing a place to come and meet with other people who
either know God or who are just checking things out from the sidelines.
In our busy lives, we don’t often take the time to ponder the impact
Christ has made upon the world over the past 2000 years, nor the
importance of knowing God in the present. We want to take time together
to consider what it means to know God and what it means to be known by
God.
As a Christian church, we want to help people comprehend the
difference God makes in the everyday activities of life. We want to help
people live life to the full, knowing the Creator’s love and sharing it with
others. For we are convinced that our greatest need is to know God. This
gives us hope for the future, peace in the present and helps us to travel
through the complexities and joys of life.
We hope that many will join us at St Philips Community Church to
grow in their relationship with God, or to consider afresh where they are at
with Him. For there are no secrets to knowing God: just the path of
trusting in the gift God has given the world in Christ.

WHAT WE’RE ABOUT
At St Philips Community Church we are confident that God wants to
make himself clear to the whole world. This has happened throughout
history, but most clearly and finally through his Son, Jesus.
It is easy to be unsure about what God is really like; it is easy to see
all beliefs as options. However, it is also easy to imagine that God is able to
make the truth about himself clear to the people he created to know him.
This, above all, is what we as a church have put our hope in.
The Bible contains a plain and clear message of God’s desire for us to
know him, and the way in which that can be done. And this way is through
Jesus.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made
us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by
grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Essentially, we want to make plain God's concern for his creation and
our need to know him, in order to experience life to the full. Most of us
have a sneaking suspicion we can know God; together we can explore these
ideas and share our lives with one another.
For more information please contact the office or speak to one of our
staff members.

Our Church Meeting
St Philips Community Church offers an informal gathering designed for all

Each week we meet to chat, sing, pray and discover more about God

School as well as a crèche for the younger ones.
A fresh Morning tea is served after the meeting.

SIMPLY CHRISTIANTIY COURSE
Are you one of the many with…
a sneaking suspicion there’s more to life?
a healthy scepticism that demands a few answers?
a search for meaning that never hit the jackpot?
In just five, hour-long weekly sessions you and a small group of others
will have the opportunity to:
sort out fact from fiction in the Christian faith;
ask questions or remain silent;
enjoy good food, drink and conversation;

To book your place, or to simply find out more about the course, write
your details on a ‘comment card’ at church and place it in the box at the
rear of the hall, and you will be contacted.
Or you may contact Dave Lanham at dave.lanham@stphilips.org.au or on
9988 4993.
Courses are run at various times throughout the year. They are generally
held at the home of the Minister or one of our members in a relaxed and
friendly environment. A light supper is provided and there are plenty of
opportunities to ask questions, or simply listen to the discussion.
